This winter, I have once again contemplated my dream. A world in which people dare to follow their own path, regardless of how big or small their dreams may be. Not aiming to acquire a certain status or wealth, but rather to find deep satisfaction in what truly makes us happy. What if we had the courage to overcome our fears and strive for a life in line with our most fundamental values and passions? What would then be possible? It means letting go of (self-imposed) pressure to meet the expectations of others and instead listening to our own hearts. That is not easy. I have previously written a blog about this; Listen to the Whisper.
It's also about breaking free from the pitfalls of our materialistic society, where earning money, more-more-more (read the blog: Problem with More), and the number of likes or followers on social media are seen as measures of success. To me, this feels like puppets on strings. We are controlled by our internal puppeteer. But is this truly what we want? Or is it a way to suppress feelings of inadequacy?
I am convinced that everyone has the right to follow their own path and strive for a meaningful life where sufficient happiness is experienced. In fact, I seriously wonder if we should not see this as a duty sooner. It's a simple statement, but its execution is certainly not. During the journey towards a meaningful fulfilment of our lives, we are often pushed off course by setbacks, expectations, lack of time, financial worries, or a lack of perseverance.
Choosing happiness sounds simple but is rarely easy. Moreover, it is also not always easy to do this alone.
With this dream and ambition in mind, I have developed a training: Personal Leadership. A growth program where like-minded individuals support and encourage each other to take active control over your own life and your work. Together, we explore, experiment, and make progress towards success. Getting to know yourself better, knowing what your dreams and ambitions are, so that you can pursue them with determination and resilience. Learning what self-direction truly means because there are two sides to that coin: motivating yourself and taking care of yourself. Developing a positive self-image and self-confidence. It's about letting ourselves be guided by our inner compass, rather than external expectations and societal norms.
Perhaps then it is possible to break free and touch your personal definition of success. To be able to move forward both professionally and personally. What choice will you make? And how? Exciting to discover that together. Because together, we can contribute to creating a world where fulfilment and well-being are central, where we support and encourage each other to realize our dreams and ambitions. It all starts with the courage and determination to stand up and take control. If not now, then when?
